Cindy Mostaffa rejoins team at Nexus Neurorecovery Center
Nexus Health Systems welcomes Cindy Mostaffa back to the Nexus Neurorecovery Center campus as Chief Executive Officer. Mostaffa will play an integral role in strategic planning for the rehabilitation center.
“This is a true homecoming for me,” Mostaffa said. “I’m excited to be back at Nexus Neurorecovery Center and look forward to reconnecting with physicians, staff members and residents. I’m also ready to gain an understanding of what needs to be done to secure a strong future for the facility and company.”
In her first 90 days, Mostaffa will meet with health system stakeholders, physician leadership, and medical staff to develop a strategic plan focused on reaching positive patient outcomes, improving employee retention and growing awareness in the community. Mostaffa explained, “It’s important for me to create a strategy that fulfills Nexus’ mission and helps all patients, even those typically underrepresented in the healthcare industry.”
Mostaffa first joined the Nexus family in 2005, but has been in the healthcare industry for over 30 years. She started out as a recreational therapist and transitioned into case management, quality risk and hospital leadership positions. She has a well-rounded background of progressive experience working for a variety of facilities specializing in long-term acute care, inpatient rehabilitation and behavioral health.
Mostaffa shares that her passion for treating patients with brain injuries has been the focus of her career, and coming back to Nexus Neurorecovery Center enables her to continue working with this patient population and their families.
“Part of my job is to market our services throughout Texas and across other states,” Mostaffa said. “Nexus’ offerings are unique – from vocational rehab and community-based living to our continuum of care that meets patients’ needs as they progress.”
Mostaffa explains she is ready to jump into her new role, saying, “It’s all about making sure our staff is well taken care of, highly trained and engaged so they can consistently provide great care that contributes to a great patient experience.”
Nexus Health Systems president Erin Cassidy explained, “Cindy is devoted to seeing Nexus Neurorecovery Center grow. With her at the helm, we will continue to grow and offer new programs that help countless patients, residents and families.”
