Practice Administrator - Nexus Health System - Houston, TX

Job Information

  1. Ensure compliance and oversight of HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA and other governing bodies’
  2. Respond to all high level and/or confidential business affairs
  3. Identify staffing needs at facility
  4. Recruiting Point Person with HR, Recruiters and CEO’s
  5. Ensure Physician staffing at facility, holiday schedule, sick leave, etc…
  6. Billing Collections
  7. Set-up interviews with HR / CEO / Physician
  8. Set Day site visits at facilities
  9. Facilitate maintenance of licensing and medical society memberships for physicians
  10. Serve as liaison between NPS and multiple support staff (HR, Finance, Payroll, Operations, IT)
  11. Seek ways to save for the practice
  12. Participate in monthly meetings with physicians to review financial performance and KPI i.e., Net Revenue, Operating Expenses, RVU’s, Volume Metrics, etc.
  13. Maintain accurate monthly meeting minutes
  14. Verify tasks assigned to / assumed by practice providers.  Offer to assist with completion where applicable. Assist with completion monitoring and accountability
  15. Monitor scheduling and provider schedules
  16. Attend daily, weekly and monthly meetings to discuss practice performance
  17. Coordinate accounts payable (AP) and payment of outside invoices
  18. Work with Human Resources for employee orientations, benefits enrollment and payroll
  19. Review monthly financial variance reports
  20. HIPAA compliance training
  21. Monitor billing complaints/resolutions
  22. Meet routine deadlines and work schedules as well as timely and accurate completion of special projects and any other duties as assigned.
  23. Understand, support, enforce and comply with company policies, procedures and Standards of Business Ethics and Conduct.
  24. Display a positive attitude as well as professional, polite, considerate and courteous conduct and treatment of others in the course of duties
  25. Maximize collections for each provider.  
  26. Maintain NPS at breakeven or greater.

Job Requirements


• Knowledge of basic medical practices, medical terminology, physician scheduling, patient relations, and patient billing
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and professional diplomacy skills
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to foster working relationships with physicians, management and associated businesses
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from client, hospital or patients
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Possess strong communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate with physicians, management and hospital staff
• Knowledgeable about EMR; computers; software
• Highly organized with developed time management skills

Education Required

• 4-5 years healthcare, organizational management or related experience
• 4 year Degree preferred
