Medical
Director
to Oversee
Integration
of the
Touchstone
Program at
Nexus
Specialty
Hospital

Nexus
Health
Systems
recently
appointed
Ron
Tintner,
MD, to
implement
a new
program at
Nexus
Specialty
Hospital
in The
Woodlands
that is
based on
the
company’s
services
at the
Touchstone
Neurorecovery
Center in
Conroe.
Dr.
Tintner is
currently
a
neurologist
at The
Methodist
Neurosciences
Institute
and an
associate
professor
of
clinical
neurology
in the
Weill
Medical
College of
Cornell
University
at The
Methodist
Hospital
in
Houston.
Previously,
he served
on the
medical
staff and
in
teaching
roles at
several
Texas and
California
medical
facilities,
including
Baylor
College of
Medicine,
The
Parkinson’s
Institute,
Ben Taub
General
Hospital,
The
University
of Texas
Southwestern
Medical
Center at
Dallas,
and the
Community
Hospital
of the
Monterey
Peninsula,
among
others.

at Nexus
Specialty
Hospital
and Dr.
Tintner
will lead
that
exciting
combination,”

Systems.

leadership
will help
further
position
Nexus as
the
premier
medical
and
rehabilitative
care
facility
for those
with
complex
health
needs.”
As medical
director
of the
Touchstone
Program at
Nexus
Specialty
Hospital,
Dr.
Tintner
will
direct a
full array
of
neurobehavioral
services
ranging
from
nursing to
clinical
psychology,
behavioral
therapy to
social
work,
respiratory
to
recreational
services,
physical
and
occupational
therapies
to speech
and
language
pathology.
Born in
Israel,
Dr.
Tintner
received
his Doctor
of
Medicine
from the
University
of
Florida, a
Masters of
Science
degree in
Biopsychology
from the
University
of
Massachusetts,
and a
Bachelor’s
of Science
in
mathematics
and
Bachelor’s
Degree in
psychology
from the
University
of Miami.
He
performed
his
internship
in
internal
medicine
at the
Presbyterian
Hospital
of Dallas,
University
of Texas
Health
Science
Center at
Dallas,
and
Southwestern
Medical
School in
Dallas. He
performed
his
residency
in
neurology
at
Parkland
Memorial
Hospital,
University
of Texas
Health
Science
Center at
Dallas,
and
Southwestern
Medical
School. He
also took
a
fellowship
in
movement
disorders
at Baylor
College of
Medicine.
Dr.
Tintner is
board
certified
in
Neurology
and is a
member of
numerous
professional
organizations,
including
the
American
Academy of
Neurology,
Movement
Disorder
Society,
Parkinson
Study
Group,
Huntington
Study
Group, and
Tremor
Research
Group.
